Griddle Recipe - Cheese & Potato Cakes




 

FIRE & WATER ARE GOOD SERVANTS 
BUT BAD MASTERS

CHEESE AND POTATO CAKES

50 g plain flour
300 g cooked potato
50 g mature cheese
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 egg
25 g butter or margarine
2 oz plain flour
12os cooked potato
2 oz mature cheese
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 egg
1 oz butter or margarine

Method
In a mixing bowl, mash the cooked potatoes finely. 
Thoroughly mix in the grated  cheese, butter, flour and mustard.
Beat the egg and add sufficient to the mixture to make a soft dropping consistency. 
Drop 'puddles' of the mixture onto a hot well greased bakestone leaving spaces in between. 
Cook until the underneath is golden, turn and cook on the other side.
Serve hot with bacon and eggs.
